"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
Ironically, the only time that life appears meaningless is when you look at life from a cosmic, god's-eye perspective. When you are actively involved in doing something that you enjoy doing, life feels quite meaningful. Pretending that there is a god in order to fill this hole is an act of self-deception. If you want to understand where we came from, study evolution. If you want to know why we do things, study psychology. Life is complicated, and there are no easy solutions.

Gotta love Willie The Shake!
I hate that Franz Zappa is dead. I hate that Kurt Cobain is dead. I hate that Spalding Gray is dead. I hate that Elliot Smith is dead.
